Professor Goodman's death is officially recorded as a tragic accident, but at the beginning of the investigation, there is no mention of his latest discovery - a miraculous new formula for making flawless diamonds at a fractional price that seems quite strange to Captain Hugh "Bulldog" Drummond. His suspicions are further heightened when he realizes at the request of a member of the capital's diamond syndicate. Gradually, he unravels the sinister greed and murder plot that culminates in Coase's dramatic motorboat pursuit, bringing him face to face with his sworn enemy.
