The Tin Woodman of Oz
by L. Frank Baum
In the twelfth story, Oz the Tin Forester and the Scarecrow meet Gillikin's son Wot. The Forester tells him how he fascinated the axe of the Wicked Witch of the East (Nimmy Ami, who punished her for falling in love with her ward), which caused her to cut off every part of her body. Tinsmith's Ku-Clip replaced them with body parts carved from tin. Forester, who had no heart, left him. In The Magnificent Wizard of Oz, Dorothy and the Scarecrow found her in the woods; When they reached the Emerald City, the Sorcerer gave him a new heart. Encouraged by Wot and accompanied by the Scarecrow and the Rainbow's daughter, Polychrome, The Forester, travels to Munchkins Country in search of her. Although their search ultimately fails as Nimmi is now married to Ku-Klip's assistant Chochopfiti, many adventures follow.
