The Wheels of Chance

Although H. G. Wells is best known for his science fiction stories, which he wrote in many genres, including history and social commentary. The Wheels of Luck was written when cycling became very popular (1890-1905) and saw bicycles become part of social change in England. Humans could move quickly, and the rigid class structure began to crumble. This is the story of an assistant draper, who is lucky to ride a used bike on a tour of the English countryside. In addition to a number of funny characters, he meets a young woman who escapes from her seduction.
