Toast
by Charles Stross
Toast is a collection of science fiction short stories first published in 2002. The collection's subtitle refers to how predictions of the future in SF's stories quickly become obsolete with the course of real events. For example, the 1995 short story "Fools' Ship" was a prediction of a disaster due to an Y2K problem that did not occur. Table of Contents: Antibodies, Bear Trap, Cold War, Toast: Con report, Excerpts from the club diary, The Child and His God, The Ship of Fools, Dechlorination the Moderator, Yellow Snow, Big Brother Iron.
