The Turtle Lesson was written by D. H. Lawrence in 1908. This was the third of his sixty-seven short stories, all of which would be published separately in e-book format by Blackthorn Press. The story takes place at a local school and offers insight into the poverty and spirit of working-class children, as well as Lawrence's time as a teacher.
