Transposition and Other Addresses
by C. S. Lewis
This book contains a selection of the many speeches Lewis gave at the end of the war and in the years immediately following. All of them were compiled in response to personal requests and a specific audience, without thinking about further publications. As a result, in one or two places, they seem to repeat sentences that have already appeared in print, although they really guess. The period in which these working dates are exceptional; While Lewis didn't think he changed any beliefs that these were embodied, he couldn't fully restore the tone and anger they were written about. In addition, those who wanted to keep them in permanent form would not be satisfied with the piece. Therefore, it seemed better to let them go with just a few verbal corrections.
