Under the Lilacs

by Louisa May Alcott

"Under the Lilac" is a children's science fiction novel about two girls (Bab and Betty Moss), Mrs. Celia, a circus fugitive (Ben Brown) and her dog (Sancho). When two young girls decide to have a tea party with their baby and a mysterious dog arrives and eats their precious cake, they find a circus escape in the Ben Brown play hut. Ben is a horse craftsman and loves horses, so when Moss takes a young boy, they decide to give him a job in his neighbor's house, driving (on horseback, of course). After that, a series of events take place and Ben experiences a deep tragedy in his life. Mrs. Celia, a neighbor, gets upset and comforts him, and eventually offers to let Ben stay with him and his fourteen-year-old brother Thornton, named Thorney. After that, adventures and summer activities can continue at Celia's house. Sancho disappears, Ben is accused of stealing, even Mrs. Celia is injured, and Ben makes a wild journey to his horse Lita. You will not be disappointed by the many interesting achievements of the interesting characters of this classic.
