Women in Love
by D. H. Lawrence
A sequel to Lawrence's previous novel The Rainbow, the film continues the story of the Brangwen sisters in the coal-mining town of Beldowehr. Based in part on Lawrence's turbulent marriage to German aristocrat Frieda von Richthofen, the story is filled with strong emotions and psychological insights as it focuses on the relationship between two Ursula sisters who deeply love a school inspector and eventually marry; and Gudrun, who was attracted to the son of a rich industrialist, but over time found only a gap in his troops.
