Word of Honour
by Sapper
Minesweeper is not as good at writing stories as it is at writing a feature novel; but it still shows many of its virtues. His style is talkative and light, the plots are neutral, and everything goes with a swing. Of course, if' the reader pulls himself up and starts thinking about whether the stories are like life or not, he will feel quite suspicious. Minesweeper takes a lot of bluff and satisfactory rules. Murder is not a sin in the case of love. The hero cannot do anything wrong if we are informed in advance that he is a good man. The minesweeper's favorite rule is that all men with bronze and blue eyes should be allowed to take the law into their own hands. And we immediately hear a person's jaw sitting, we know that he is beyond good and evil. From a sociological point of view, this is a dangerous doctrine; but who cares about anything but history when you read Sapera?
